There is not a definite link between Christina Burkhalter and her parents. However, we know Christina comes from Langnau and was born around 1720. There are very few Christina Burkhalters recorded as born in Switzerland around that time, and only one in Langnau. We can say with a high degree of confidence that Christen and Barbara are her parents. | Family: F1193

Just FYI. In the Monroe County OHGen Web there is a posting of an Anna(Hubacher) Baumgartner who was married to a Benedict Baumgartner of Monroe County. She died about Jan 19, 1911 just east of Vera Cruz, IN. Just a quick synopsis if the reading; Born in Germany in December of 1822 and was married the first time there to Mechiah Aschleman and had 5? children.
Her second marriage was to Benedict and moved to Wells County, IN over 43 years ago. From this marriage they appeared to have 6 children. She had no brothers or sisters. The funeral and interment was held at the Christian Apostolic Church near Vera Cruz. | Benedicht Baumgartner

For many years, a single grave existed in a pasutre two or three miles southwest of the present Bern church. It was in a remote place by itself. For a long time it remained a mystery why a single grave was situated in this pasture. It was eventually learned that more than a century ago the grave was placed there to "hide" it from the Indians who would dig up graves of white men. The grave was that of Sam Baumgartner. In 1980, it was moved to the present church cemetary.

Mrs. Christian Baller Died at Richmond
Body Returned for Funeral Thursday at Christian Apostolic Church
Mrs. Christian Baller, wife of a well known farmer, residing just east of the Christian Apostolic Church, north of Vera Cruz, passed away this morning at the Easthaven Sanitarium at Richmond, where she had been for the last three years. Her physical condition has not been good of late and her relatives were more or less prepared for her demise.
Herman Thoma, Mr. Baller and Jacob Tonner, a brother-in-law of the decedent, motored to Richmond this afternoon and will return with the body this evening. The body will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Tonner, near the Christian Apostolic Church. The funeral will be held on Thursday with services at the house at 12 o'clock and at the church at 1 p.m. The interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mrs. Baller was born in Monroe County, Ohio, on August 26, 1860, and was the daughter of Benedict and Anna (Hubacher) Bamugartner. She came to Indiana with her parents when she was ten years of age and has been a resident of this community ever since. She was married to Mr. Baller in 1882.
Her husband survives her. They have two children. Other near relatives are a sister and two brothers, namely: Elizabeth, wife of Jacob Tonner; Joseph Baumgartner, residing east of Bluffton; and Isaac Baumgartner, of Lathham, Kansas. One other sister, Mrs. Margaret Strohm, wife of Dan Strohm, has preceded her sister in death.
